Read your email with Mozilla Thunderbird

This article describes the process involved in setting up Mozilla Thunderbird in order to access and read your emails.
These instructions apply to Thunderbird 2.0.x
To change your saved password in Thunderbird 2.0.x on a Windows PC
- Select the Tools menu and choose Options
- The Options window will open. Click on the Privacy icon
- Click the Passwords tab
- Click the View Saved Passwords button
- The Password Manager window will appear. Select the appropriate email address
- Click the Remove button
- Select the outgoing server address (usually begins with smtp). This will only apply when you set up your first email account in Thunderbird. Any additional email accounts you add to Thunderbird will use the previous outgoing server details
- Click the Remove button
- Click the Close button
- Click the OK button to close the Options window and then quit Thunderbird
- Launch Thunderbird again. You should then be prompted to type in your new password when you send or receive mail. Select Use Password Manager to remember this password to save this new password

- Select the Thunderbird menu and choose Preferences
- The preferences window will open. Click on the Privacy icon
- Click the Passwords tab
- Click the View Saved Passwords button
- The Password Manager window will appear. Select the appropriate email address
- Click the Remove button
- Select the outgoing server address (usually begins with smtp). This will only apply when you set up your first email account in Thunderbird. Any additional email accounts you add to Thunderbird will use the previous outgoing server details
- Click the Remove button
- Click the red button in the upper left corner to close the Password Manager window
- Click the red button in the upper left corner to close the preferences window and quit Thunderbird
- Launch Thunderbird again. You should then be prompted to type in your new password when you send or receive mail. Select Use Password Manager to remember this password to save this new password
